Pesky Little Devils ...

Ok, I don't know about you but I have come to HATE product stoppers with a passion. You know what I'm talking about - those little, plastic, barely noticeable stoppers the cosmetics companies put on lipgloss - yeah those, that's what I'm talking about here. I HATE them! Let me elaborate here. Yes, they wipe away excess product off the wand HOWEVER, most companies make them so narrow that you barely get any product on the wand at all. It is such a pain in the ass to take your favorite lipgloss in a hurry and need to dip the wand into the tube 6 times to apply one coat of lipgloss. So what did I do besides whine and be angry? I'll tell you what I did - I took them out of my two favorite glosses, & here's how ...

What You'll Need:
Your favorite lipgloss & nail clippers.
*Note: I have both sizes here; the larger one works better with some of the harder stoppers*

Take your clippers and merely go around the edge of the stopper and tug at it to make it looser. Keep doing this but pull harder and move the clippers farther down the stopper to get a better hold. Eventually it'll come loose enough to come out. When it does THROW IT AWAY!

Here are the two glosses I used after the procedure:
L'Oreal Infallible Plumping Lipgloss in 706 - Plumped Plum

Milani Crystal Gloss in the beige-y pink-y one.

Aright so the pros & cons of the procedure are as follows ...

Pros:
You actually get all of the product out of the tube.
You don't have to dip your wand into the tube a million times.
It's quick and easy.

Cons:
You get a ton of product on the wand (as you can see in the pictures).
It's harder to do a "modest" application.
Depending on how long the neck of the tube is, the gloss oozes out the sides ...
... like this ...
(I know it's hard to see)

*Note: It doesn't do this on the L'Oreal because of the length of the neck. If you look at the pictures you can clearly see that it is abundantly longer than that of the Milani.*

So overall, I find this to be a good fix to the little stopper problem. Yes, it's a little annoying but I would rather deal with too much product than not get all of my money's worth out of it. Be wise in your choices to do this. Obviously the Milani leaks and it's kind of gross so just be aware of how long the neck of the tube is.

Good luck ladies!

Product Rave

The product in question, my dears, is the Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Lipcolor in 055- Grand Garnet. This is a beautiful, WEARABLE, red. I say wearable because it is a very muted, more natural red. This color is gorgeous and I don't know why I have been ignoring it so much. It gives me that nice color that I want but it's not too in your face for just going to class or everyday wear. Now for a swatch =).

Here is Grand Garnet on my lips

Now, enough about the color. This product, as a whole, is a great thing. Revlon advertises these products as one step long lasting liquid lipstick. (Say that five times fast) Anyway, I have three and I must say, Revlon's done good with this one. Revlon states wear for up to 12 hours, now that might be pushing it a little but it lasts a very long time. I think the longest I ever went was about 6 or 7 hours. It's awesome and the color pay off is great.

Here are the three that I have - From left to right: Grand Garnet, #1 Nude, Top Tomato

Well that is all for me for today. I hope everyone is having a good start to the week =).

OOTD & Haul #1.

Before you all freak out, NO, I did not violate P10P. I went to CVS today because I ran out of some necessary products like body wash and facial wash. So I was perusing the aisles looking for my Neutrogena Body Wash in Pink Grapefruit and because my CVS sucks they, of course, didn't have it. I was majorly bummed but I picked up the Nivea Touch of Water Lily Hydrating Shower Gel. So we'll see how that one goes. They did have my facial cleanser so, thank god, I didn't have to find a new one - I was happy about that. While I was there I also picked up Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion. It being summer my legs will be exposed and I'd like to have them really smooth and soft. I just used it once on my hands and I must say that it works but I HATE the smell. Maybe I'll get used to it - I hope =/. The last item I got was Conair Rubberbands for you hair. My hair is getting long enough to put up so I figured I would buy some.

Outfit of the Day
I was a bum today. I have no makeup on and I did nothing with my hair.

I am wearing a plain black v-neck sweater with a leopard print scarf. Dark wash denim shorts and some sandals.

Aren't the sandals too cute? They're made by Qupid and I bought them off amiclubwear.com last year. I checked recently though and they don't have them again this year. Bummer. And on a side note that is Orly's Red Flare making an appearance on my toesies =).

Update & Product Rave

Hello all,
Well the last couple of days have been crappy to say the least but, oh well. Anyway, I figured I would come and air my grievances about P10P. Here it goes ... IT SUCKS! I hate Project 10 Pan and I'm trying to remember why I even thought about doing it. I feel like the only way to use up the stuff on my list is to pretty much ignore my other makeup. I am beginning to miss things. Like my Carmex lip balm for example. I miss it sooo much, it's so much better than my SoftLips. But I am SOO close on finishing the SoftLips - give it about a week maybe.
So onto my product rave. I recently ran out of these products and I need to go buy more on Friday when I get money. They are the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub and the Body Clean Body Wash in Pink Grapefruit as well.
So I'll start with the facial scrub first. It's AMAZING! Now I am not a skin care person in any way. Usually products irritate my skin or dry me out. I bought this at the beginning of last summer when I was breaking out. I stopped using it for a while - not for any particular reason, just because. Well about a month ago I started to use it religiously. It works sooo well. It really exfoliates the skin and it smells fabulous. It doesn't dry my skin out or break me out any further. Neutrogena seems to be the only line that I seem to have any luck with.

Now onto the body wash. This body wash, like the facial scrub, is awesome. It smells just like the facial scrub and it even has exfoliating beads in it. It really makes my skin feel soft and smooth and I LOVE it.

In other news, I am contemplating dying my hair a little lighter. I'm not sure though. What do you think?

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Productive Sunday & Awesome Orly

Hello lovelies,
Today has been a very productive day, thus far. I'm doing laundry and working on an English paper. It's been a bit of a lazy weekend but a good one none the less. Yesterday my boyfriend and I went out for dinner to celebrate our five months together. Officially our anniversary is tomorrow but both of us have exams on Tuesday so we figured we would celebrate early.

Here is a picture of us =).
Isn't he the cutest?

Now onto the goods. I recently picked up two Orly nail polishes. I found them in CVS and the colors were gorgeous, I just had to have them.

(P.S. I dunno if that counts as a cheating on P10P. Let me know what you think)

Anyway, I have to say that so far, at least with the one I have used, Orly is AWESOME! The color goes on pretty nicely and it could have looked good with only one coat but I put two on just because of my own insanity.

The two colors I picked up were, Red Flare, which is part of the permanent line, and Wandering Vine, which is part of the Bloom Collection.

The one I have on my nails is Wandering Vine and I must say that it is beautiful.

Here are the bottles and Wandering Vine with flash ...

... And without ...

Well that is all for me. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

What am I doing here ...?

Well, being a college student and a surly teenager I, of course, whine and such and would like a place to vent my frustration. I also have a slight makeup and clothing obsession that I like talking about to no one in particular.

So, that being said, I will be commencing Project 10 Pan as of today. I don't have much in my collection but being that I have very little money, I find it wise to not buy anything until I use some of what I have.

Here are the products that I will be focusing on for P10P. Yes, I know, there are more than 10 but I feel safer with a little more breathing room.

Project 10 Pan Products:
SoftLips Cherry Lip Balm
Maybelline Deal Mousse Concealer in Ivory Light 2-3.5
Neutrogena SkinClearing Foundation in 10 - Classic Ivory
Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara
Maybelline Great Lash Mascara
Sephora Fresh Gloss
Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Lipcolor in 075 - #1 Nude
Sephora Brilliant Lipgloss
Maybelline Volume XL Seduction Lipstick in 160 - Born With It
Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Black
Rimmel Soft Khol Eyeliner in 071 - Pure White
Rimmel Soft Khol Eyeliner in 001 - Jet Black

Well those are all of my products. Hopefully I get through more than 10!!

Well that is it for me for today, hope everyone has a good night.
